In my years working in and observing the wellness industry people always want to lose weight or maintain their weight. They get stuck because of some common themes which I will focus on in this website.
Usually the first thing people do when they feel the need to lose weight is to go on a strict plan without considering their options. While that can work for some, often times when they aren’t doing it perfectly, some quit. Instead, I would encourage building habits one at a time. This encourages learning healthy eating, as a way to take good care of yourself, rather than a means to an end, with the focus always on weight loss.
Most of us would eat better if we simply followed some balanced meal guidelines and added vegetables and fruits to our meals. I encourage the focus to be on high nutrition foods and shifting your nutrition habits before starting on a ‘diet’. These are some of the basics that will support a healthier diet and some topics I will focus on:
Hydration
Vegetables and Fruits
20 minutes rest after a meal.
Mindful Eating
Sleep
Reducing and Managing Stress
It is my hope that you can take each of these step by step to improve the stress around eating and trying to lose extra weight and keep it off. Ultimately, good health gives us the ability to live life with more quality. When there is a constant cycle of guilt, shame and yo yo around weight, that creates a distraction to what one could be putting their energy into.
