The Day I Really Saw You…
Poetry
Good looking and ‘sweet’,
They call her the Queen.
Many friends,
Many more opportunities,
Supported her dream,
She made charismatic company,
But slowly I saw,
The real story.
Before you give away,
Your precious energy,
Consider this,
Would they do the same for me?
Or is it a one sided game,
Only if she has something to gain?
I saw her make tears,
Quite suddenly,
Which isn’t wrong,
But the timing was key,
It happened to be,
In that moment I had clarity,
She wasn’t center stage.
They took the bait,
Now it’s all about her,
The victim she was,
In her own venomous ways.
We had to reschedule,
What was supposed to be,
So she could be the star on the tree.
No one else saw,
She had planned the play,
Her identity locked on being able to steal your parade.
Popularity wins at all costs.
Then a turn came.
When the two face was shown,
The Pattern is key.
First, she’ll get to your emotions,
by telling a story.
Then start crying,
Cause she ‘cares’ that way.
All attention on the queen.
Suddenly though,
She stops on command.
As if the director,
Brought up his hand.
With a straight face,
Barking to her left hand.
Then flip on a dime,
Emotion turned back on.
Lights, camera, action,
Put a donation in the hand.
Amazing Performance.
I’ll give her that.
But follow the money,
It will tell you about a two faced brat.
