The Truth
Poetry
Body Language reveals
If only you listen,
With your eyes.
The tone,
The edge
The words not said.
A stare,
A frown,
Tight lips,
Raised brows.
Too many blinks,
or not enough.
A touch of the hair
or arms crossed.
Framing the hips,
Puffing the chest.
Touching the face,
or covering the chest.
Looking away
or rolling the eyes.
They give us away.
The feelings we deny.
The truth beyond social times.
A pause,
Rethink.
Eyes wide,
or eye smile.
Language reveals
where we are from.
Like how you say mountain,
or if you drink, hun.
Cover up an accent,
There are still ways,
It may come out
When your under the gun.
And when there is pause,
Don’t speak, just wait.
You may be hearing the choke,
before crying is spoke.
Silence may give a breakthrough.
And ready or not,
culture comes out.
or The way that you say
the exact phrase
as your ‘ex’ does,
but these days…
It can show a connection,
staring you in the face.
It shows the lie,
while you fake a smile and reply,
Without moving your arms.
Anyone can act
but something will reveal,
The lie,
The feelings,
Who and what you adore.
This is the language
Unspoken cues.
Put it all together.
And look for a pattern,
to see the real truth.
