Holidays can be hard for staying on a food plan. Combine that with family and you may get a bit of emotional eating as well. This can be a vulnerable moment on top of a triggering moment, on top of tradition, combine that with some beautiful, feel good foods and you have a recipe for getting off plan. One day may turn into a few days or a week, which can make us feel like we are really off track. This can lead to thoughts like:
“It’s too hard. Forget about it. You messed up.”
That’s usually the thought process that makes us believe it is too late. Is it true? Is it really too late? Challenge the negative thinking. What would it take to get back on track? If you are feeling that way, then you must have had some good momentum going. Just pick it up where you left off. Start tomorrow by setting it up tonight. Get out the water bottle, pack your lunch, get out your workout clothes and commit again to your plan.
Start again as if nothing happened. Start tomorrow like you are at your peak. Don’t wait until Monday. Start again every day. Recommit everyday. Do it the way you do when you know it will work. Because it will. Start every day like you didn’t mess up. Like you are on a roll. And soon, you will be.
Start again tomorrow like you didn’t mess up yesterday.
