The Rumors We Hear
While I was talking to someone about the homeless issue they said that homeless people don’t want to leave the area because the services are better for them. Yes, having any sort of medical care while being homeless is surprising. There was an argument about the homeless. People see it as a problem. I saw it as a problem, but the problem we saw was different.
I saw it as something I would not want to be living through myself. Others saw it different.
After 2021, this state had a surplus budget of over a billion dollars. This has stuck with me for years. Super proud of my home state for that but I wonder, where did the money go.
Pay teachers more?
Pay for trained policemen at every school to stop bullying and other security issues?
Invest in green energy?
The air pollution that is one of the worst in the country.
There was much debate going around as this was a hot topic. This was over ten years ago, the ‘problem’ has gotten much worse over the years everywhere. I was talking about it with someone and they told me that our town actually had less homeless than other places. They also said that someone told them they were given a free bus ticket to Vegas.
I always said if I were homeless I would go somewhere warm. For some reason, this was something I thought a lot about as a child and worried about how I would survive.
