*Tart is not included in the traditional tastes but I added because of how much I enjoy tart. I included tart because that is how yogurt is naturally. It is hard to appreciate the taste of tart if one is consuming a lot of sugar. Tart is a wonderful flavor.
When you are focused solely on sweet flavor, you really miss out on other flavors. It has been suggested by Ayurvedic medicine that all the flavors at a meal help with feeling satisfied. A great meal can include all the flavors. See what you think.
A big benefit of focusing on all the flavors is that we can get off sweet and salty being our main 2 flavors. This can be a helpful key if one is trying to eat less sugar.
